Experience

Queen’s Aerospace Design Team

Co-Captain April 2026 – Present

Captain of the Queen's Aerospace Design Team creating drones to compete in international competitions

Avionics Manager May 2025 – Present

Leading a multidisciplinary team of 10+ to develop flight-ready avionics systems for two fixed-wing VTOLs and a quadcopter. I oversee full systems integration—including component selection, procurement, and budget management—while architecting flight performance reviews using sensor data to optimize system-level reliability.

Simulation Team – Urban Fire Mitigation (ICUAS ’26) Oct. 2025 – Present

Currently focused on the ICUAS 2026 competition simulation, working with Linux, GitHub, Docker, and ROS2 to develop autonomous indoor fire mitigation, equipment deployment, and reconnaissance capabilities.

Electronics & Power Systems – Wildfire Mitigation (AEAC ’25) Oct. 2024 – Apr. 2025

Contributed to the design of carbon fiber fixed-wing and quadcopter drones for wildfire hotspot detection and water transport. I designed and integrated power distribution hardware, including a 12S 2P battery system with quick-swapping capabilities, and utilized LTSpice and Altium for PCB schematics.

Additional Leadership

  • QUESST Inter-Faculty Relations Director (May 2025 – Dec. 2025): Coordinated logistics and facilitated collaboration between faculty groups for a university-wide sustainability conference.
  • External Communication Committee – Queen’s Engineering Society (Oct. 2024 – Apr. 2025): Developed collaborative relationships with engineering schools across Canada and internationally to exchange ideas regarding governance and effective service delivery.
  • Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Volunteer (Apr. 2023 – Aug. 2024): Trained in helm, navigation, and radio communication, supporting monthly maintenance on Falkins Class Type-1 fast response vessels and participating in technical sessions on meteorology and chart plotting.
